Q. How easy are bird barrier spikes to install?
A. Bird barrier spikes are very easy to install. They provide an excellent barrier against roosting or nesting pigeons. Each order comes with an easy-to-understand installation CD. If you aren’t confident with a ladder, ask a friend, neighbor, handyman, or a professional window cleaner to give you a hand. Show them the installation guide, and provide them with the spikes. We suggest you pay them $2 or $3 per foot to install.
Q. I’m not sure how big a pigeon control problem I have. All I can see is a build-up of pigeon droppings on the ground.
A. Look up at the building above. If you do this at dusk, you should see all the pigeons on the various ledges that will need an anti pigeon device.
Q. Is bird pest control and pigeon pest control legal? Does the bird barrier spike injure the birds?
A. Installing pigeon spikes on your property is perfectly legal and humane. In fact, the Humane Society of the United States recommends spikes as one of the solutions to an unwanted pest pigeon on your ledge. The spikes do not hurt the birds; they simply prevent them from landing.
Q. How do you sell spikes? What length are they?
A. Each spike strip is just over 13 inches long. The bird spikes are sold in boxes of 20 feet.
Q. What do ‘bird proofing’ and ‘pigeon proofing’ mean?
A. The installation of mechanical systems to prevent birds and pigeons from roosting.
Q. How long will it take for my pigeon spikes to arrive?
A. We use UPS; delivery usually takes 3-5 business days, however remote areas can take longer.
Q. Do you ship to Canada?
A. Yes we ship to Canada however, customer must incur any taxes or duties imposed by importing country.
Q. Do you ship to anywhere outside of the US?
A. For all shipments outside of the USA please use our sister company website www.birdspikesonline.co.uk.
Q. What is your returns policy?
A. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee for unused goods purchased from www.deterapigeon.com minus 20% restocking fee, carriage is non refundable. 30 days begins from the date order received.
Refunds will be issued when items have been returned, received and booked in to our central warehouse location. All returns must be sent to our central warehouse: FAO RETURNS, Deter A Pigeon, c/o Jones & Son Pest Control Supplies Ltd, Unit 4 Sabre Buildings, Sabre Close, Heathfield Industrial Estate, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 6TW, UK.
A restocking fee becomes necessary in order for us to keep our costs and prices down. We try to keep the restocking fee as low as possible and in line with the cost associated with the handling charges to our central warehouse. We can only refund your order against the original credit card number supplied for the order.
Q. I don’t see the answer to a question I have. What should I do?
A. Click here to ask us a pigeon control question. We will send an answer within two hours (Monday – Friday, 6 AM – 2 PM). If you e-mail us after 3 PM we will get back to you first thing the next day. Test us; if we miss the two-hour deadline, we will send you a large bar of chocolate.
